A Sinful Portrait, Poem by Adigun Temitope Idealism

a portrait held the four-corner of my father’s house/ this portrait had the story of how my father & my elder sister became monsters/turned our compound to sin city/ where we lived as foreigners.

i was a kid when my father married another wife/ she made our home a theatre/ turned my bruised mother to a whispered tune, forgotten in my father’s tube of heart.

she made my father a shadow to our destituted lives/ we became my father’s darkness.

she made my mother actress to series of accusations/ my mother was affiliated to lots of abominations and allegations.

i was still a toddler when my father sent my mother to the hut behind our house/ to live & die with the dust.

her tears turned to my father & her worries became my sister before she left us in silence.

i was still a teen when my eighteen years of age sister teamed up with her friend to tease me with a film/

she carried me on her metaphorical bed/ her friend used her Jezebelical fingers to pull down my trouser/ she grabbed my quick-graduated penis/ pencilled it to her tweeted mouth/my sister opened her paradise/ told me that the gate fee is free but could be freezing.

i was just a kid when I tasted a sin & wrote our story in the portrait that held the four-corner of my father’s house.
