Call for Submission: Beauty of Failure Poetry Contest (Cash Prize, Anthology Feature) | ACEworld

We live in this side of the world where a rejection letter has become a light-out for poets, a place where an audience or editor’s verdict on a writer’s piece determines what comes next: a cup of coffee or sniper! I mean we now live in this place where writing is the key to existence.

But it’s more than just writing. Failure can creep in at any point in our lives. So it’s upon us to find our light in dark places so we can live to win another day.

In the light of this, ACEworld Magazine is calling on poets to explore the theme: Beauty of Failure.

WHAT WE WANT:

‘Failure is not the end of life’.

That is what we need you to help us understand poetically. Tell us how there is more positivity in failure than what we see. Tell us not to look so long at a closed door, another has already been opened. Be the light that guides our path.

GUIDELINES:

– Maximum of 15 lines.
– We don’t care about style or form. JUST DELIVER!

MODE OF SUBMISSION:

– Forward only one poem in docx format to {submission window closed@}
– Write the subject of the mail as “Beauty of Failure Contest”

PRIZES:

The only criteria for winning is being able to give us a poem that successfully celebrates hope in the face of failure.

– N5,000 cash prize for ONE winner.
– Anthology feature for top 20 entrants.

Submission window closes by August 31, 2019.
