Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

Applications are invited from interested and qualified candidates to apply for One Acre Fund Graduate Internship Programme

One Acre Fund Nigeria is looking to place a cohort of paid interns for a four-month period. Interns will work on impactful projects, receive mentorship from organizational leaders and provide support to One Acre Fund’s operations. Interns will be given substantial work assignments and asked to produce high-quality deliverables.

Graduate Internship

The Graduate Internship Opportunity is designed to provide an enriching experience characterized by measurable on-the-job training, designed to help you succeed in the course of your career. It is an avenue to develop leadership traits in young individuals and assist them in realizing their potential. Interns are valued members of the One Acre Fund family and we are looking for the best of the best. We ask all staff to take a “Farmers First” attitude and approach their work with humility.

Opportunities 

  • Professional Experience: You will participate in on-the-job training and make significant contributions to your respective departments, while building networks and knowledge across One Acre Fund. You will have the opportunity to join field visits, where you will work on the front lines of our operations, learning key aspects of our work and directly engaging with our clients.
  • Learning and Development: You will develop the foundational knowledge to contribute to our program and the competencies to lead. Activities range from building program fluency through intensive training on policies, products and operations. This ensures that you understand how One Acre Fund operates as well as how to align your skills to priority areas. You will participate in a range of leadership and professional development workshops to networking, mentorship and conversations with One Acre Fund Nigeria Leadership.
  • Coaching & Mentoring: Interns are assigned mentors at the peer and departmental level. Mentors can provide advice on various topics ranging from building program fluency to identifying career opportunities throughout One Acre Fund.

Career Growth and Development

We have a strong culture of constant learning, and we invest in developing our people. You’ll have weekly check-ins with your manager, access to mentorship and training programs, and regular feedback on your performance.

We hold career reviews every six months and set aside time to discuss your aspirations and career goals. You’ll have the opportunity to shape a growing organization.

Eligibility

  • This role is only open to citizens or residents of Nigeria

Qualifications and Requirements:

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Strong academic track record: Must be a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s, HND or Master’s Degree programme with significant quantitative components;
  • 2:1 or First Class for Bachelors / Upper Credit
  • Completion of National Youth Service with not more than 1-3 years of working experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and standards.
  • Internet proficiency, and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel – can maintain complex spreadsheets), and PowerPoint) are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong quantitative analysis
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn
