Passed Down Writing Competition | Prize: $1500

The latest writing competition from Exisle Academy invites writers to explore the memories, traditions and ideas that are passed down from one generation to the next. Monetary prizes, as well as publication opportunities, are on offer covering the categories: Fiction, Non-Fiction and Writing for Children. Standard entry is free, and writers can choose to update to an “Assessed Entry” to receive detailed feedback from the Exisle Publishing team. Entry is open to writers from all countries.

Founded in 1991, Exisle Publishing is a mainstream publishing house that has been a defining voice in the book world for close to three decades. Founded in New Zealand by British publisher and former David & Charles executive Gareth St John Thomas, Exisle made a name for itself publishing gripping photographic books, biographies (including that of Prime Minister Helen Clark) and self-help guides by qualified experts.

Exisle soon expanded to Australia and now has a strong presence throughout the English-speaking world with staff in the United States (Boston), the United Kingdom (Edinburgh and London), Australia and New Zealand. Our books have been translated into over 35 languages, and you can regularly find our booths at book fairs in Frankfurt, Istanbul, Beijing, Melbourne, London and New York.
