Applications are welcomed from suitably qualified women entrepreneurs for the Women in Africa (WIA) Initiative Entrepreneurship Support Programme.

Each year, the entrepreneurship programme endows 54 African women entrepreneurs from 54 African countries with a comprehensive support package consisting of training, communication, mentoring and networking.

Programme Details

This year, 540 women candidates will benefit from training and coaching. Through this newly introduced initiative, WIA aims to support more than 10,000 women entrepreneurs, indirectly contributing to the creation of 100,000 jobs by 2030.

The categories for support include: Education, Health, Digital, Fintech, Agriculture, Sustainable Development, Beauty Industries, Creative Industries.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Women in Africa (WIA) Initiative Entrepreneurship Support Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be an African woman entrepreneur where the business is created or led by an African woman.
  • Startup created less than 5 years ago.
  • First traction on the market
  • Be part of one of the 8 categories of the programme.
  • Product, service or technology must be innovative with proven business model scalability.
