Poetry: For God So Love The World by Temidayo Jacob | ACEworld

For God So Love The World

for god so love the world,
that he forgot to love me.
he gave me his only begotten son
to make me a slave under the sun.
back-burnt. a broken spinal chord.
now, i can’t stand to call him lord.

the lame walked. blind made to see.
he’s tired to work and too old to see
that a little boy like me is being held
at neck by a world he claims to love.

my mother, eaten at vagina by cancer;
she called on him, he couldn’t answer.
obviously, no plans to make her stay.
but, why did he bring her here anyway?

my father, watching wonders of trees,
got his eyes caught by a bizarre breeze.
his two eyes drowned in his rolling tears,
his heart ticked in rhythm with his fears.
one night, he lied.
that night, he died.

my sister, turned victim of sexual assault
after rain kissed her on the skin with salt.
she got mashed on her buttocks and breasts
by a strong wind running from east to west.

god watched every scene in silence. right?
maybe he was chilling with the devil. right?
then, he’d appear on pastor’s lips on sunday
to teach of how much he loves me everyday;
when his will is not even scheduled my way.
