“For the Nigerien woman that I am, this is an unlikely journey, made possible by many invisible hands that opened doors I didn’t even know existed, people that encouraged me to pursue my passions and helped me nurture my talent, my parents who let me be, my 6th grade teacher who made me love learning in a class with +100 students, scholars who made me see the power of research in shifting policy at scale and changing lives in the process, my supervisor Prof. Shailaja Fennell, and an undying optimism and desire to learn, grow, and give always.

“16 years ago, when I left Niger, a teenager who barely spoke English, I could never have imagined that this would be part of my journey. If we keep the door of opportunities open to all, nurture talent, what seems impossible becomes possible. Grateful. Alhamdoulillah.”

Congratulations to her.
