Recall that the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) on 22nd February 2022 released the information of the Npower Batch C Stream 2 Shortlisting, calling on the applicants of the Npower Batch C to log into www.nasims.gov.ng to confirm if they have been shortlisted, and proceed for biometric capture.
However, a mix up riddled with misconception ensued when “Npower” through their verified official Facebook and Twitter Handles described as misleading, the information on Shortlisting/ selection of candidates of the Npower Batch C Stream 2, adding that “Shortlisting is not a guarantee for final selection”.

The first question is, “Is the Shortlisting of the Npower Batch C Stream 2 beneficiaries Fake?
In the Npower Batch C Stream 2 Latest Update Today, we will be explaining some facts made by Npower Abuja in the information shared on the official Handles.
1. “Npower Cluster is calling on the General public to disregard misleading information on the short-listing/ selection of candidates of Npower Batch C Stream 2, urging applicants to proceed for biometric capture or physical verification. Npower Batch C Stream 2 is currently being shortlisted and successful candidates will be duly communicated to”.
The first Fact is that Npower Batch C Stream 2 Shortlisting is not Fake.

Remember to log out of the portal www.nasims.gov.ng if you had logged in to check your status previously. This will enable the verification Tab refresh and update your Status. Alternatively, an applicant can use the USSD Code *45665# then select Npower. An applicant should have up to N50 Airtime before dialling the USSD Code.
2. “Successful candidates will be duly communicated to”. Also, “Thank you for contacting us today, please you are advised to halt any biometric process in the meantime. We will continue to keep you all updated on all issues relating to biometrics, verification, shortlisting of beneficiaries for Npower, Batch C, stream 2. N-power!“
Ok guys, Number 2 sounded more confusing but the message is straight. It is a norm that Npower does contact its shortlisted applicants through e-mail as well as text messages, and direct them to the next line of action.
What this means is that the Npower Management has not “mandated” or “scheduled” shortlisted applicants to proceed for Biometric Capture or Physical Verification.
The Fact remains that Shortlisting is ongoing and this ‘systematic’ Shortlisting of the Npower Batch C Stream 2 candidates is to prevent the Website from crashing as has always been the case of massive traffic.
Also, no date has been fixed for the commencement of the Biometric Capture or any Deadline specified for the Capture.

However, as a shortlisted applicant of the Npower Batch C Stream 2, if you have done the Finger Print Capture and “BVN validation” correctly, do not panic. Just wait for the next directives. If the Npower Management later declares the captured biometrics null and void, kindly prepare your mind for the repeat. But if taken, congratulations on the win.
3. “Shortlisting is not a guarantee for final selection”.
Yes, it is true that a shortlisted applicant of the Npower Batch C Stream 2 is not yet a Npower beneficiary. Pre-selection is not the final selection. There are other processes that need to be completed “successfully” before becoming a Batch C Stream 2 Npower beneficiary.
To become a successful Batch C Stream 2 Npower beneficiary, a shortlisted Npower Batch C Stream 2 candidate needs to pass through Biometric Capture, BVN Validation and Physical Verification, and succeed in all.
