WEEK 2

THE WORLD ISN’T SMILING

In its warm laments with a broken throb
The dead, the living physcre sore
All souls perish in poverty great summon
The earth eyes full of crimson stains
Full of fiery tears in cascade strings
The stomach of Cosmo’s doom fore told
Dying in the grave yard of a promise Fate”!
The soil produces acid
The state of nature’s bloom as faltered

Rivets hollowed by sorrow
In gloomy-sorrowful tone they sang
Sea streamed up to drains
Cleaned every winters formed in the clouds
gods and goddesses eager for power
Power to scour the lost at dying hours

The ancestors broke their voice in silent
Those in needs of their breakthrough
Dead of ghost hung above the clouds
With their neck tied a dirge of rope the swan wings lower
The heavens dampen in blankets of Night
Each stood in serenity of lingers

WEEK 1

WHERE DO WE GO WRONG, AFRICA?
.
Why did they enslave us in our sleep
And marry our eyes to merriment?

There’s no relationship between spaceship and donkey
Civilization should be diverts of exploitation

Tell me the difference
From the color of their words
And the letters in their eyes
There is no different between a chameleon and an alligator
Except their embalmed laughter
That is a food for thought
Like African proverbs

“Only he who wears a shoe,
Knows where he pierces him”
Our women have forgotten the tales of yam with the mortal
Our mothers have forgotten the day they bent to plant the millet
They have forgotten how they used to strapped children on their backs
To making machine pounding yam
And grinding pepper without getting into their eyes

Their skirts are seizes of a tortoise
With exposed blouses
Like Ojoro the palm wine tapper

The whole world turned upside down
Claiming of turning the world inside out

Just yesterday, Ikoli, took his trousers to the ground
So his feet could demonstrate Ijebu dance steps

And our young daughters wont allow their wears be under
They have made it seem insightful
Like a masquerade displays during the new yam festival

The difference is clear
We learnt what Sango, Ogun, And Osun, Oba Ala had never taught us
We are riddles of ourselves
They taught us strange beliefs
And the gods shut their eyes to us
