AMALA DUDU

A stream gives flow in my mouth at a view of thee.
A horse ridden within me races smoothly at thy sight.

Thy presence on this palate
In company of thy escorts is but relishing.

Ditto to the trial of gold,
Art thou tried in fire.
But, alas,
Thou hath conquered!
And on thee also will I mark a triumph.

As these folks will say:
“Iyán makes food, Ámàlà makes the medication.”
Thou indeed hath striped my ill;
An ill birthed by hunger.
Amala dudu, thou art great but not worthy of plundering my wit.
