Poetry: Crossroads by O.Olanrewaju Trimiziu

Crossroads

We parted at the crossroad yesternight,
under the illuminating moonlight,
even though I knew it wasn’t right,
I still wanted an embrace so tight.

I stood still in silence,
as you made your way down to your residence,
watching in awe of your physique,
your elegant steps full of mystics.

My desire for your embrace heightened
and my love for you deepened,
as I slowly made way to my abode,
keeping thoughts of you above.

Then I heard the voice saying
“Won’t you say a proper goodnight to your beloved”,
like a quick flash I turned, expecting an embrace,
only to discover I was been played by voices in my head.
