Poetry: Tell The Man by Olajide Gbenga Emmanuel

Tell The Man

Tell the man
who made my wail the wailstorm of wails
Streaming my tears to echo to my torn heart
Of each time he beeps pains from it depth,
That he is not my president!

Tell the man
That begged me for the invitation now he had been invited.
He is dining and wining but he had chased me away
By claiming he was ‘Everyone’ in front of everyone…
He had cheated on me!
Please tell him…
That he is not my president!

Tell the man
At the government chamber breeding verve of hand.
Underneath alternating dollars
Underneath swallowing dollars
Just to become big man with big belly
That he is not my president!

Tell that man
That got the long blue trouser;
With his long muses for corruption.
He wanders along the Niger area.
If you help me see him
Tell him he should vacate
That he is not my president!
