LMW is “devoted to publishing accessible books about technology in Africa.”
According to their call;
LWM is a new Ouida Books imprint that is devoted to publishing accessible books about technology in Africa and technology for Africans.
Our first venture is to publish books for the “So You Wan’ Learn” series which will explain everything there is to know about everyday technology in a modular fashion and in an engaging style that speaks to Africans.
These mass-market guide books are designed to provide simple and clear explanations of the various technologies used in Africa. They are expected to be written in accessible, colloquial English with helpful illustrations.
The books will provide support for people who feel alienated by existing books on technology. They should be between 25,000 and 40,000 words.
If you are interested in becoming the author of a book in the ”So You Wan’ Learn” series, write to [email protected] and include:
- Your CV including two references
- A 200-word proposal, including justification, on the aspect of technology you seek to write about
- A proposed table of contents and the first 500 words
- Proposed timelines
Submissions close on 31 July, 2020
