Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) has officially opened applications for the eagerly anticipated 2024 Tax Quiz Competition, aimed at fostering tax education and awareness among students in the state.

According to released statement, this year’s competition will commence with the opening of registration portals for interested schools, running from Monday, April 22, to Friday, May 17.
The preliminary stages of the 2024 edition will hold virtually across all registered schools in the State between Monday, June 24th and Friday, June 28.
The service intends to utilize media platforms to outline the necessary criteria and provide comprehensive information regarding the 2024 edition of the competition in the coming days.

In 2021, 142 schools took part, a figure that escalated to a remarkable 219 in 2022, and further rose to 231 in 2023.
The top-performing school overall will receive the prestigious grand prize of N2.5 million, with the first runner-up awarded N1.5 million, and the second runner-up receiving a cash prize of N1 million.
Additionally, coordinating teachers of the winning schools will receive cash rewards, and students who contribute to their schools’ success will also be awarded cash prizes to support their educational endeavors upon presenting admission notices from higher institutions to the agency.
