LIFE by Rantimi

LIFE

Life is real
Life is earnest,
And the grave is not it’s goal
Dust thou art, to dust returnest
Was not spoken of the soul
Our ingress into the world
Was naked and bare
Our progress through the world
Is trouble and care

I’ve looked at life from both sides now
From up and down, and still sitting down
It’s life’s illusions, I recall
I really don’t know life at all

Life is a waste of wearisome hours
Which seldom the rose of enjoyment adorns
And the heart that is soonest awake to the flowers
Is always the first to be touched by the thorns.

He husbands best his life, that freely gives
It for the public good; he rightly live
That nobly dies, it’s greatest mastery
Not to be fond to live, nor fear to die
Life, earns it best; but he that over prizes
He dearest blood, when honor bids him die
Steals but a life and lives by robbery

Ask what is life…….
The sage replies, lowering his eyes
A painful passage or a restless flood
A vain pursuit of fugitive false good
A sense of fancied bliss and heartfelt care

My mama always said life is like a wrapped gift,
You never know what is inside until you open it
Live all you can, its a mistake not to
It doesn’t so much matter what you do in particular , so long as you have your life
If you haven’t had that what have you had
Life is everywhere a state in which man is to be endured and little to be enjoyed

My life has been one great big joke
A dance that’s walked
A song that’s spoke
I laugh so hard I almost choke
When I think about myself
My life has been a lot of shooting goal

Let me leave you with this question
That turns me on
If a life is for rent,
How will you price yours?
