Poetry: Reminders by Akinwale Philip Peace

Reminders

Reminders pull the wall from you
when you rest on them and cry.
Nobody wears your pain nor
could your feeble shadow
lead you where the light
leads. You are alone.

There are many time in this world
so no one will know yours paused,
stopped or ceased.
Darkness washes you to
your pain like sea sands
and you could only feel your dirt,
Not your self again and again.

You do not understand yourself
like flying dusts
gathering while scattering
but you tell yourself you’ll be fine.
You know you’re but strewing dust
trying to gather itself
for this one time, at least
For this one life.
