League Of Wordsmiths is an initiative of Whyke Anthology which began last year. Serving as a means of promoting poetry, story writing…and art as a whole, across Africa, whilst also serving as an aid for young, budding, aspiring…writers in the African diaspora.
Asides the core mission, League Of Wordsmiths was crafted to give even a wider range of audience specifically to her winners, who must have engaged in an healthy yet tasking and energy-sapping cum brain tasking contest with other writers.
The Contest which kicked off last year saw Oyekunle Ifeoluwa Peter out of the 40 entries received, as Its Winner. The prize for last year was a sum of N10,000. But we’re happy to announce an increase in the prize money for this year’s contest.
As stated earlier, this year’s contest would feature only poetry & flash fictions/short stories. Thus, we’re quite sorry other genres/forms of literature/art are left out. We promise to look into it as regards next year’s contest.

This Contest is open to all writers born in Africa – either resident or not. However, writers of African lineage are also eligible – perhaps maternal or paternal.
