The writing contest covers the genres – Poetry, Screenwriting and Short Stories, and is part of the activities to mark Goge Africa’s 20th Anniversary celebration!
It’s aimed at celebrating the talented writing skills in verses, movie scripts and story telling, which best depicts the contest theme – “Our Culture, Our Heritage”.

PARTICIPATION DETAILS
Send an unpublished work in any of the stated genres (poetry, screenplay or short story that best captures the theme – “Our Culture, Our Heritage”) in a Word document, with a summary of your Entry as well as a Short Profile of the Author of the Entry via email to: writingcontest2019@gogeafrica.tv
CONTEST RULES
- Indicate choice of genre when submitting
- Every Entry must be written in English
- Every Entry must be the original work of the Participating Author
- Poem must not exceed 350 words
- Screenplay must not exceed 5 minutes Duration
- Previous winning scripts are NOT eligible
- Once a script has been entered in the competition, under no circumstances will we accept substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages
- Short story must not exceed 1,350 words
- One entry per participant
- Any entry in any of the genres that fails to depict the theme will be automatically disqualified
- Contest Duration May 5th to June 20th 2019
