This prize is geared at encouraging literary criticism. To do this, the Advisory Board of The Nigeria Prize for Literature will reward one critic with the sum of one million naira.
Critics from all over the world are welcome to participate as far as the subject of their criticism is Nigerian Literature. Special considerations will be given to critical essays written on new writings in Nigerian Literature.
Interested applicants are to send in three critical essays that have been published in major scholarly journals. These journals must have a proven record of dedication to education and wide international circulation.
Only entries published this year, 2020, or in three years before now, will be considered.
All interested applicants are to accompany their submissions with an application form obtainable here. Completed forms must be printed and submitted along with the entries.
The winner will be announced and presented in October.
Deadline for entries is March 31, 2020.
