Inhume Mirror by Umar Yogiza Jr | ACEworld

Inhume Mirror

i’ve been pursued by dripping haunts
silently & the resources within me are lean
in my journey of transgress discovery
every path is an edgy mirror
hollow reflection carving passage inside
an ensnaring liquid passage
passage inside a passage for my soul
where vultures wait for imaginary god to kick the bucket
some imaginations are better left unwritten
when taunted bounties started sketching
unseen images on the gaping canvas
of haunted echoing memories, you paused the mirror full of portrait
of scars, scorched by heat of what you thought
you once trusted, to pull yourself out, so, i did
but instead of me, i ended up pulling my shadow
as old as death & as empty as the desert
& shadow does not speak the language
of the living, in teaching my shadow words
like a baby, people laughs at what i’ve become
some prayers are better left unsaid
they turn the heart into a mosque of filth &
purify the heart with sad transgression

Umar Yogiza Jr writes between lafia and abuja where god and devil seek the wheels of his fate
