In February 2021, he made an appeal to Nigerians, claiming that he had spent all of his NYSC allowance trying to acquire the scholarship.
Oregon University, University of South Florida, and Florida State University were among the schools to which he was accepted.
Gbenga’s goal for the essential processing of his travel documents was N1.18 million.
“TWITTER PEOPLE HELP ME O!” he had written.
I recently won three fully funded Ph.D. scholarships in another country.
I’ve spent all of my Allawee on this, and I don’t have any more to pay for additional fees, flights, or lodging.
Please assist me in preserving this dream.”
Nigerians responded to his appeal for aid by donating, and he was able to raise the necessary monies and complete his journey.
On September 6th, the young man provided an update, stating that he had arrived in the United States and thanking Nigerians for their support.
He posted a photo of himself in the United States and said
”Thank you, Twitter users!!!
I’ve arrived in the United States.
