Ramadan Poem | Day 24: Paintings by Onafowokan Taofeek Busayo

PAINTINGS
If i could learn how to paint a living soul
I could paint one for you
Drenched in a blood chain
That makes the body a portray
Of a good servant
If I could learn how to paint a body
I could paint one for you
Cleanse the hands, mouth, nose,
Face,
Wet the skin, the head, the ear
Cleanse the feet
And go to talk to Him
If I could learn how to paint a lips
I could paint it pink
That looks like a pearl
And see the angels cherish your prayers
If I could learn how to paint sins
I could paint them in tears
Drowning in the mercy of Allah
And your body, lips, tongues
Would continue to chant these words,
“Allahumo innaka affuwun tuhibul afuwa
Fa’afu a’nii”
