He commended the Governor for allowing what he described as a very rigorous screening process where the recruited teachers were made to go through micro-teaching for 30 minutes after a tough examination which was conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB).

The Commissioner added that the selection process which was done purely on merit has again demonstrated the Governor’s open and transparent style of governance and the fact that government wants only the best teachers to teach pupils in public schools.

Oladoyin through the statement stressed that the recruitment which is inclusive of both degree and NCE holders have been adjudged by renowned education stakeholders as very thorough and rigorous and it’s capable of forming the backbone of the Osun education sector for the foreseeable future.

He explained that the micro-teaching stage of the recruitment process which is a departure from the past was introduced because of the need to recruit the best from the pool of applicants as the state government is determined to produce students who can compete with any of their peers from anywhere in the world.

The statement concludes that the newly recruited teachers will not be thrown straight into the classroom but will be made to go through a comprehensive and intensive training exercise to prepare them mentally, emotionally and physically for the task ahead.

“There is a lot of departure from the past in this particular recruitment process simply because we want the best for our students in Osun. We made them go through the micro-teaching exercise because that is the only way of ascertaining their mastery of the subject contents and their ability to articulate and effectively communicate their thoughts. We are also going to train them before they start work.

“We have carefully selected the best from both the NCE and degree holders that applied and the exercise was really rigorous and thorough”. The Commissioner stated.
