The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development flagged off the NEXIT Loan training for the disengaged Npower beneficiaries on 14th March 2022 and ended on 18th March 2022.

During the flag-off of the NEXIT Loan Training, the Honourable Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouk, noted that out of 467,183 trainees who indicated interest for the NEXIT Loan, 75,600 were selected to participate in the First Batch of the NEXIT Loan Training across the 36 States plus FCT, which will prepare them for the loan if they qualify.

Farouk also indicated that batching the NEXIT Loan Training was to ease Coordination, adding that the Batch 2 of the exited beneficiaries who would participate in the next batch of the NEXIT Loan Training would be shortlisted after the Batch 1 NEXIT Loan Training.

“It has been my desire that the exited batches A and B N-Power graduate beneficiaries will not be left unattended to. In different channels, I kept on assuring these teaming youths that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has worked very closely with the Central Bank of Nigeria to realize this dream.

“Today marks the beginning of the fulfilment of this awaited training that will enable those beneficiaries that indicated interest to participate in the CBN empowerment programme.

“For ease of coordination, this training programme will be conducted in phases. Let me also inform you that all the 36 States and FCI are participating in this long-awaited NEXIT training programme. A total

of 75,600 participants are in this first batch of the training. We will continue to train the remaining batches in no distant time.

“The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development are committed to ensuring that the strategic objectives of all the social intervention programmes are harnessed to achieve the desired goals and objectives,” Farouk stated.

About 4 months after the Batch 1 NEXIT Loan Training, no official update has been made by the ministry neither on the Disbursement of the NEXIT Loan to the trained and qualified beneficiaries nor on the commencement date for the Batch 2 of the NEXIT Loan Training.

The silence of the Ministry on the NEXIT Loan Training has given room to false information as well as exposed the disengaged Npower beneficiaries to fraudsters having aroused their desperation and hope on the NEXIT Loan.

There are two resounding questions begging for answers on the NEXIT Loan recently:

1. When will NEXIT Loan Disbursement commence for the trained 75,600 beneficiaries.

2. When will the Batch 2 of the NEXIT Loan Training commence as over 300,000 beneficiaries yell in wait for the NEXIT Loan Training.

The disengaged Npower beneficiaries have called on the Ministry to give an official update on the two questions above, so as to save them the stress of false information and falling prey to fraudsters prying on social media.

NEXIT (N-EXIT) Loan was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria, to provide soft Loan amounts between N250,000 to N3million to the disengaged Npower beneficiaries, which would enable them to proceed in a business enterprise after a compulsory NEXIT Loan Training.

NEXIT Loan Programme is beginning with the Batch A and B Npower beneficiaries but will, according to the Ministry, be extended to the Batch C of the famous Npower programme.
