She tortured the words of our mouth,
And made our heart conjealed to itself,
Like an abandoned cement mixture.
Nigeria, the land of our heroes past.
She stands open in everyside,
Exploring evil and good.
Evil indeed comes from men and to men.
She has mader our innards wail,And our skins, dried up
Like withered leaves in harmattan.
Oh, Nigeria! We blame you not,
But the malignant children from your womb.Acquainted with power by their akin,
Which in turn, the formed leprous fingers to them.
They’ve trained their hands to be kleptomanic
To their intractable bellies. And made us swallow seeds
Of cynicism.
We’ve heard the wrong people “pray” in our churches,
Let the right do.We want to love ourselves, who we are.
We await a messiah,
To let us take the sweetness
Of everyday into our lungs.
