it was mould by a faceless man
who sit on the seat
at the backyard
of our economy…this poetry was not written by me
neither was its spirit created by these lines
it was mould by the shadow of a man
who is a stranger in his land
and a foreigner in his hut…this poetry was not written by me
it is the lines of the motionless ahadow
that remains a king on the seat,
the seat that covers the lost homes
of disvirgined bones
of the sacred masses…this poetry was not written by me
its body was not created by these lines
it was created by the flee of the dawn
and the dust of the silence
of Lazarus’ choice
and their lost robe of survival…this poetry was not written by me
it is a farewell at the doors of our elders
the blood that changed the footprints of our masters
and makes us to lost our paths…this poetry was not written by me
it is the judge that sentenced our joy
it is the hunger that filled our stomach
it is the cigarrette of death we puf everyday
it’s the face of our dreams
that tasted the sweetness of death…this poetry was not written by me
it was hung on a seat-
the seat you sit
Biography:
Adigun Temitope Idealism, known as DATI is a final year student of
Mass Communication, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a poet that
loves to write the wrong to right in whatever place he finds himself.
DATI is working on two of his poetry anthology manuscripts; Lines On
The Seat and My Voyage. He is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of BLACK
PRIDE Magazine.
