PTDF Scholarship 2023/2024 Selection Interview Closing Date

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Selection Interview that will lead to the award of scholarships for the 2023/2024 Overseas Scholarship Scheme (OSS) MSc and PhD programme scheduled to hold from Monday 19th June 2023 will be closing on Friday 23rd June 2023.

The interviews are holding in the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria. Shortlisted candidates have been contacted with details of their time and venues of interview.

The interview process is a continuation of the scholarship process which began on 13th February 2023, with a public announcement inviting interested candidates from across the country to apply for the PTDF Overseas Scholarship in Universities in the United Kingdom (UK), Germany, France, China, and Malaysia (GFCM) under its Strategic Partnership Initiative.

Only those who met the requirements as advertised for the application were shortlisted and invited for the oral interview. Selection for the award is based strictly on performance in the interview.

The establishment of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund for the training of Nigerians to qualify as graduates, professionals, technicians and craftsmen in the field of Engineering, Geology, Science and Management in the petroleum sector was the first major step at institutionalizing the policy of local manpower development in the oil and gas industry.

Before its establishment, the government had taken legislative actions mandating international oil companies employ and train Nigerians that after a given period, Nigerians will take over the running of the Industry from exploration to marketing. PTDF is therefore a special purpose Fund to train and make available skilled, competent and qualified local manpower for the oil and gas industry.
