Job Description:
How can you make a difference?
- The Programme Manager, Health (Programme Manager) will manage specific, multi-stakeholder health projects for the Nigeria country office focusing on designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring work plans to deliver measurable results.
- The Programme Manager will report to the Nigeria Country Office Chief of Health and will work with the Health Managers responsible for leading the primary health care (PHC) systems, immunization, and maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH) clusters.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:
- Support to programme development and planning
- Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
- Technical and operational support to programme implementation
- Networking and partnership building
- Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in health, public financial management, management, international relations, or a closely related field is required.
- A first university degree combined with 2 additional years of professional service and understanding of relevant functions may be considered in lieu of an advanced university degree, preferably combined with credited courses or certifications.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in the management of projects within the national/international health sector.
- Prior experience working in global health initiatives (Global Fund, GFF, GAVI) managing projects or programmes an asset.

Programme Specialist

Job Description:
- Under the general supervision of the Emergency Manager, the Programme Specialist – Humanitarian Cash Transfers and Shock-Responsive Social Protection (SRSP), will build on the lessons learned from an anticipatory action pilot carried out in Kaduna State in Northwest Nigeria in 2022 by rolling out a cash preparedness initiative in Jigawa State, also in Northwest Nigeria.
- The Programme Specialist shall also provide strategic guidance to enable the country office to engage relevant national and local authorities in view of strengthening the government’s shock-responsive nature of social protection systems.
Summary of key functions/accountabilities:
- Project Design and Coordination
- Monitor cash-related budgets
- Provide strategic guidance
- Ensure internal coordination and mapping
- Strengthen fundraising
- Inter-agency participation in cash transfer and shock-responsive social
- Track the risk management components of cash transfers,
- Follow and enhance the learning of the country office
- Undertake field visits.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- An Advanced University degree in one of the following fields: social sciences, public administration, international law, international relations, international development, economics, business administration, or other related disciplines is required.
- A relevant first-level university degree (Bachelor’s), plus 2 years of relevant work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of five years of professional experience at the national and international levels in programme/project development, humanitarian cash transfers, and social protection are required.
- Previous experience with humanitarian cash transfers and/or shock-responsive social protection programming is required.
- Project management experience is highly desirable.
- Government engagement on issues related to social protection or humanitarian coordination is highly desirable.
- Work experience in an emergency context is an asset.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, identify solutions to overcome bottlenecks, and deliver high-quality results on time.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a local language is an asset.
