The Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) is a type of commission in the NAF which is open to both civilians and serving military personnel. The Course provides the avenue for the enlistment of degree holders who are professionals in specified fields. Training period for this type of commission is usually 6 months of intensive military training, and successful candidates are commissioned into the rank of Flying Officer.

Who Should Apply for Nigerian AirForce Direct Short Service Recruitment 2024 ?

To be considered for the Nigerian Air Force Recruitment 2024, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Applicants must be of Nigerian origin by birth.
  2. Applicants must not be less than 1.66m tall for males and not less than 1.63m tall for females.
  3. Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit.
  4. Applicants must be free of any previous conviction(s) on criminal grounds, by a court of law.
  5. Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 30 years (Candidates born before 27 September 1995 are not eligible) with the following exceptions:
    • Medical consultants should be between the ages of 25 – 40 years (Candidates born before 27 September 1985 are not eligible).
    • The exercise is not for serving military personnel desiring Branch Commission. Therefore personnel above 30 years (born before September 1995) need not apply.

Qualification

  • Interested applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class Upper Division for holders of the first degree and Upper Credit for HND holders.
  • Additionally, applicants must possess credit in English Language and Mathematics as well as 3 additional credits in subjects related to their course of study.
  • Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants must possess NYSC Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption from NYSC at the time of applying.
  • Applicants must possess certificates of full registration with their respective statutory professional bodies in Nigeria where applicable.

How to Apply for Nigerian AirForce Direct Short Service Recruitment 2024

Interested applicants for the Nigerian AirForce DSSC Recruitment 2024 are to visit the Nigerian Air Force recruitment portal www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng from 14th October 2024 when the portal will open.

Applicants whose applications meet the stipulated requirement are to print out the underlisted documents after completion of the online application:

  • Local Government Area Attestation Form to be signed by Military/Police Officer from the same state as applicants not below the rank of Wing Commander or equivalent in the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Assistant Commissioner of Police and above, Local Government Chairman/Secretary, Magistrate and Principal of Secondary School attended by applicants.
  • Parent/Guardian Consent Form
  • Attestation of Good Character Form
  • Acknowledgement Form

Additional Information:

  • Zonal aptitude test will hold on a date to be conveyed on the Nigerian Air Force recruitment portal.
  • Nigerian Air Force online registration and all other recruitment processes are FREE OF CHARGE and no payment should be made at any point throughout the exercise.
  • The Attestation Form must be accompanied by the passport photograph and photocopy of the signee’s Driver’s License, International Passport or National ID Card. The signee is also to authenticate the passport photograph of the applicant.
